Healthy Whey Protein Recipes

Everyone’s health and fitness journey comes with different types of struggles. For some, it’s difficult to fit the gym into their busy lives. Some people struggle with proper meal planning. Others (most) struggle to avoid the temptation of those sweet treats that can throw a wrench in a healthy diet. One way to combat this issue is by creating some sweet treats that contain less sugar and more protein to leave your sweet tooth and stomach feeling satiated, but without falling off track! We will do this by adding our new whey protein BUILD! Try these recipes out and let us know what you think!


Banana Protein Pancakes

These protein packed pancakes will get your morning started off right! They are super simple to make, and only contain four ingredients! This recipe will make four 5” pancakes, but feel free to double the recipe for more!

Ingredients:

  • 1 large ripe banana
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 scoop of whey protein
  • 1 scoop of rolled oats (35g)

Directions:

  • Spray a medium sized pan with cooking spray and place on stove at medium heat
  • In a blender, add banana and eggs, mix until smooth
  • Add whey and oats to blender and continue blending until smooth
  • Pour batter into hot skillet in 5” circle
  • Allow bottom to become golden brown
  • Flip pancake and allow the other side to become golden brown
  • Top with sugar-free maple syrup if you want to keep sugar intake down

Protein Sugar Cookies

If you say you don’t like cookies, you’re lying. This protein sugar cookie recipe is perfect for getting some protein intake on the go, or for dipping in some milk before bed. These cookies will be sure to cure your sweet tooth cravings and supply you with the protein you need!



Ingredients:

  • ¾ cup whole wheat flour (or 1:1 gluten free flour)
  • ½ cup whey protein
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 ½ tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¾ tsp vanilla stevia

Directions:

  • Whisk together dry ingredients in a bowl
  • In a separate large bowl whisk together the butter, egg, and vanilla extract
  • Stir in the vanilla stevia and honey
  • Add the dry ingredients slowly until smooth dough is formed
  • Transfer the dough to a sheet of plastic wrap and flatten into a one inch rectangle
  • Cover the top with another sheet of plastic wrap
  • Allow to cool in refrigerator for at least one hour
  • Preheat the oven to 350℉
  • Line two baking sheets with parchment paper
  • Keep dough in plastic wrap and roll out to desired thickness
  • Use cookie cutter or knife to shape cookies until all dough is used and place onto baking sheets
  • Bake cookies for 8-10 minutes and allow to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes
  • Transfer cookies to wire rack to completely cool

Vanilla Protein Mug Cake

Do you want to be able to eat an entire cake and not feel bad about it? Well this cake is for you because it’s packed with protein and fits inside a mug! This super simple recipe is delicious and nutritious!

Ingredients:

  • 1 scoop whey protein
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon coconut flour
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar of your choice
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup milk of choice
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon chocolate chips (optional)

Directions:

  • Spray a microwave safe mug with cooking spray
  • Add and mix dry ingredients in mug
  • Mix the egg into the dry mixture
  • Add the milk and vanilla extract until batter is smooth
  • Top with chocolate chips and microwave for about one minute or until center is just finished cooking
